Presenting The Doo Wop Project, America’s premier Doo Wop vocal group! Dedicated to preserving and expanding the genre of this great music we know and love, this supergroup features some of the world’s most talented performers from Broadway and beyond. With a hit PBS Special airing all over the country, five albums streaming on all major music platforms, and over ten years of playing sold out shows all over the country and the world, chances are you’ve already heard DWP and are a fan, if not, you’re in the right place!
Featuring stars from the Broadway shows Jersey Boys, Motown, Beautiful and Hairspray, DWP is inspired by inner city African American vocal groups like The Del Vikings, The Marcels, The Tymes and later The Four Seasons. DWP captures and delivers the classic sounds of the guys who, back in the day, harmonized with each other on stoops, in the subway, and on street corners.
From there, this epic show expands the genre by incorporating the sounds of more contemporary artists such as Amy Winehouse, Garth Brooks, Daft Punk, and Taylor Swift, to name a few. The boys of DWP take these contemporary songs and give them a Doo Wop twist, something they like to call, “Doo Wopify”. Thanks to this exciting approach, DWP appeals to every generation.
