The performer who portrayed Loretta in the musical “It’s Only Make Believe” for over two decades, and who formed a close friendship with the legendary singer-songwriter, visiting with her for many years at Loretta’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills Tennessee, Emily Portman has joined forces and collaborated with original members of The Coalminers Band (Loretta’s long time backup group) to tell the story of this groundbreaking singer and songwriter, whose body of work defined a genre and whose songs have inspired a new generation of musicians.
